Many kids meet and get their photos taken with Santa Claus every year, but how many can say that their picture with the jolly man was in the newspaper?
This child can easily brag about that because this photograph was in the November 30, 1983 issue of The Romeo Observer. Taken by Jay Burdue, it shows Santa leaning in close to listen to the super excited youngster's Christmas wishes while at Speedy Printing in the Village Shopping Center located between 30 and 31 Mile on Van Dyke Road in Washington Township. Fun fact, Speedy Printing was at the same place where All the World's A Stage currently resides right next door to the Romeo Theatre!
Do you know who the boy is?
Send us an email at rca@romeodistrictlibrary.org or leave a comment if you can identify him.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all from the Romeo Community Archives, and we hope you have a wonderful time with Santa just like this boy did!
