Every now and then, I come across a photograph that I need to show everyone for the sake of sharing. This is one of them.
On the front cover of the August 3, 1950 issue of The Romeo Observer, the Posey Brothers - a local Pontiac dealer in Romeo - pose (pun definitely intended) with T.L. Meriwether - Assistant Manager of the Ponitac Zone Office - and R.M. Downey - Pontiac District Manager - with a painting of Chief Pontiac of the Odawas, but why?
Well, let me tell you. The Posey Brothers of Romeo was admitted to the Pontiac Motor Division's "Hall of Fame." That division was under General Motors. In addition, the firm was named "Better Dealer" by Pontiac factory exectives for their "constant efforts to improve its dealership operation and widen its services to the community."
In other words, the Posey Brothers were doing what every business should do: always looking for ways to better their organization through their procedures, goods, and services.
From left to right, the photo shows Meriwether, Downey, Kenneth Posey, and Lynn Posey. Kenneth and Lynn were the founders of the Posey Brothers of Romeo.
