Do you remember the Easter baskets you got when you were a kid? What did they have? Were they like the one seen in this photo?
Tom Bleich of The Romeo Observer took this picture for its April 27, 1975 issue. In it, Amanda Moore fourth grader Veronica Velazquez proudly stands next to an Easter basket that she received from her parents. She got it as a surprise.
What's interesting about this basket is that it's two and a half feet tall! Upon closer inspection, not only is it filled with lots of chocolates, but it also contains a Rock Flowers doll, which was produced by Mattel from 1971 to 1974, on the left; a Kooky Spookys finger puppet, which was big in the 1960s, on the right; and a giant stuffed bunny in the middle.
No wonder she's grinning from ear to ear! I hope she enjoyed all of her chocolates and toys.
Happy Easter, and enjoy your Easter baskets!
