Spring is around the corner! What better way to usher in the upcoming season by sharing this photo from the Romeo & Juliet Garden Club Collection!
This picture of a girl looking at some flower arrangements came from the Romeo Garden Club 1956-1987 scrapbook that was donated recently by the Romeo & Juliet Garden Club. It was taken in 1966 when the Romeo Branch (that and the Juliet Garden Club were separate entities at that time) was hosting their flower show during the Peach Festival. It took place at the Romeo Public Library, now known as the Romeo District Library Kezar Branch. We know this because of the fireplace that shows up in the background as well as The Romeo Observer articles detailing the event in that period. The Romeo Garden Club had their annual flower shows at the library in the mid- to late-1960s.
