Brrr.....but it could be worse!

From The Romeo Observer, January 25, 1984, p. 3-A.
"The coldest day of the century set records Saturday as the mercury dipped officially to 19 degrees, according to U.S. Weatherman John Haubner. An official low of -25 degrees was read at the Stony Creek Nature Center on Saturday (Jan. 21, 1984).
Last week's frigid temperatures set record lows on Friday when -11 degrees was recorded on Saturday with -19. The Saturday reading set another record as the coldest temperature recorded during any January since 1872 when records were first kept in the Detroit metropolitan area, Haubner noted. Saturday's high temperature of -4 degrees was the coldest high temperature recorded since 1872. The 20 degrees below normal average temperature was the lowest average weekly temperature recorded since official records were kept in the Romeo area in 1947, Haubner added.
Another unusual weather condition was the Wednesday morning fog which mimicked conditions experienced in northern Siberia during the winter, Haubner said."

Having some winter fun before the frigid temperatures of '84 hit.
